There is something we all feel, even if we don’t always say it… marriage today is under attack. And yet, God has not let go of His purpose.
Lord, today I come before You with a sincere heart, thinking of every marriage, every couple, every home… and also those who are about to begin a life together.
Father, forgive us… forgive us for the words that hurt, for the pride that divides, for the impulsive decisions that break what You have joined. Forgive us for forgetting that marriage is not a competition, but a covenant before Your eyes.
Lord, look at the marriages that are struggling in silence… those who sleep in the same house but feel far apart… those who have thought about giving up… those who have been deeply hurt. I ask You to enter right there, into that place where there is no more strength… and bring healing, peace, and restoration.
I also pray for those who are thinking about divorce… those who feel there is no way out, that everything is over. Lord, give them a light in the middle of the darkness. Remind them of the love they started with, that moment when everything seemed possible. If there is still a path, if there is still a chance, help them find each other again, to look at each other with grace, to rebuild what has been broken. And if they are hurt, heal their hearts before any decision.
Protect every home, Lord. Remove violence, abuse, uncontrolled anger. Where there is anger, plant patience. Where there are raised voices, bring loving silence. Where there is pain, pour out Your comfort.
Today I especially pray for men… help them understand their role. Not as an imposition, but as a responsibility before You. That they may be men who love, who care, who protect, who provide not only materially, but also spiritual direction. Teach them to lead by example, with humility and character, reflecting Your love in their homes.
And I pray for every woman… give her wisdom, strength, and a heart full of grace. Help her understand the power she has to build her home, to lift up, to give life. May she not feel less, but valued, strong, and wise… able to bring order, peace, and love where You have placed her.
Lord, teach them both to walk as one… to set aside pride… to listen to each other, to forgive, to start again as many times as needed. Remind them that they are not enemies… they are a team.
I also place in Your hands those who are dating, those who are thinking about marriage. Give them clarity, maturity, and direction. May they not enter marriage with wrong ideas, but understanding that it is commitment, surrender, and purpose with You at the center.
Take care of the children, Lord… they are the ones who suffer the most when a home is broken. Surround them with love, protect them from unnecessary pain, and heal their hearts when they have been marked by separation or conflict.
Today I acknowledge, Lord, that only You can restore what seems lost. That there is still hope for marriages. That love can be rekindled when You are in the middle.
Lord, take my home… take my relationship… take my life. Teach me to love as You love, to forgive as You forgive, and to build instead of destroy. Make my home a place where Your presence dwells every day.
