Did you know that Jesus appears throughout the entire Bible?

Many people believe that Jesus appears for the first time in the New Testament, when He is born in Bethlehem. But the truth is far more surprising.

Long before Jesus was born, God had already left clues about Him throughout the Scriptures.

What we are going to discover today is known as biblical typology. It is when God uses people, events, objects, or sacrifices in the Old Testament to announce or foreshadow something much greater that would be fulfilled in Jesus Christ centuries later.

In other words, they are shadows pointing to a greater reality. They are signs God left throughout the Bible to show us His Son before He was born in Bethlehem.

From Genesis to Malachi, we find people, events, sacrifices, and miracles that pointed to the Savior who was to come.

For example, when Abraham was willing to offer Isaac, we see an image of the Father giving His Son.

When the Israelites sacrificed a lamb at Passover, they were seeing a shadow of the true Lamb of God.

When Moses struck the rock and water flowed out to give life to the people, that rock pointed to Christ.

When Jonah spent three days and three nights in the great fish, he was anticipating the death and resurrection of Jesus.

And when manna came down from heaven to feed Israel, it was announcing the true Bread of Life.

None of this was accidental.

The Bible is not a collection of separate stories. It is one single story written by one God, with one purpose: to show the world who Jesus Christ is.

And perhaps the most beautiful thing is to understand that the more we know the whole Bible, the more we know Christ.

Before we finish, I want to leave you with this reflection: perhaps you have read many Bible stories for years without realizing that they were all pointing to the same Savior. When you begin to see Jesus throughout all of Scripture, the Bible stops being simply a book of stories and becomes a powerful revelation of God’s love for humanity.

Also, today we are beginning a very special journey. In the coming posts, we will explore one by one the main biblical typologies we find in the Scriptures. There are around 77 examples that show how God was revealing Jesus Christ long before His birth. I am sure many of them will surprise you and help you see the Bible with new eyes.

I invite you to join me in this prayer:

Lord Jesus, open my eyes to understand Your Word. Help me discover You on every page of the Bible and know You more deeply each day. Thank You because from the beginning Your plan was to save us and draw us near to You. In Your name. Amen.
