Before you leave home, check your phone, or begin all the responsibilities of the day, let me ask you a question:
Have you already placed this day in God’s hands?
Many people start their mornings thinking about the problems they need to solve, the bills they have to pay, the calls they need to make, or the worries they carry in their hearts. Without realizing it, they step into the day carrying a burden that God never intended for them to bear alone.
The Bible says in Proverbs 3:5-6:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
What a beautiful promise.
It does not say that everything will be easy. It does not say there will be no challenges. But it does promise that when we acknowledge God in our ways, He will guide our steps.
Maybe today you have an important meeting ahead of you. Maybe you’re waiting for an answer that could change many things. Perhaps you’re carrying a concern that keeps you awake at night or fighting a battle that no one else knows about.
God already knows.
And before you take your first step out the door, He wants to walk with you.
Sometimes we treat prayer as something we do when we have run out of solutions. But prayer should be the first thing we do, not the last.
Because when we place our day in God’s hands, our circumstances may remain the same, but our hearts change. Anxiety begins to turn into trust. Fear starts giving way to faith. And uncertainty no longer has the final word.
You do not know everything that will happen today.
But God does.
And that should give you peace.
Before we finish, I want to leave you with this thought: you may not be able to control everything that happens in the next few hours, but you can choose who will guide your steps. When God goes before you, you never face the day alone.
I invite you to join me in this prayer:
Heavenly Father, before I begin this day, I place my life, my family, my work, and all my concerns into Your hands. Guide my decisions, protect my steps, and help me trust You at all times. May I remember today that You go before me and that nothing is outside of Your control. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
