Why God Allows You to Be in This Difficult Moment.

There are moments in life that have no easy explanation.

Moments when you wake up in the morning and the weight of what you are going through feels so heavy that even breathing takes effort. Moments when you look up and quietly ask: why? Why me? Why now? Why God, if you love me, are you allowing me to go through this?

That question is valid. It is human. And God is not offended when you ask it.

Maybe you are going through an illness you never saw coming. Or a financial crisis you cannot see the end of. Maybe your family is broken and you do not know how to fix it. Maybe you lost something or someone who was very important to you. Maybe you are simply tired. Tired of fighting, of waiting, of keep believing when everything around you seems to be telling you there is no way out.

And in the middle of all of that, God seems to be silent.

I want to talk to you about that silence today. Because it does not mean what you think it means.

When a little child goes to the doctor and is about to get a shot, the child cries. It hurts. They do not understand why their mom, who loves them so much, is allowing someone to cause them that pain. From where they are, it makes no sense. But the mom knows what the child cannot yet understand: that this small pain is going to protect them from something much bigger.

God is like that with us.

He does not always explain the why. He does not always give us the complete map of the road. But He does know exactly what He is doing. And what He is doing has a purpose, even if from where you are standing right now you cannot see it.

The Bible tells us about Joseph. A young man who was betrayed by his own brothers, sold as a slave, thrown in prison without having done anything wrong. If Joseph had written his story from inside that prison, he would have said everything was lost. That God had forgotten him. That there was no way out.

But God had not forgotten him. Every single thing Joseph went through, as hard as it was, was preparing him for something he could not yet imagine.

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.” — Genesis 50:20

The same can be true in your story.

This difficult moment you are living through today is not a punishment. It is not a sign that God abandoned you. It is not proof that your faith failed. Sometimes it is exactly the opposite: it is God working in you, shaping you, preparing you for something you cannot yet see from where you are.

Fire does not destroy gold. It purifies it.

I am not asking you to pretend you are okay when you are not. I am not asking you to smile and act like it does not hurt. I am asking you something much harder and much more valuable: to trust. That even when you do not understand, even when it hurts, even when the road looks dark, you keep walking hand in hand with the One who does know where He is going.

Because this difficult moment is not your ending. It is part of your story. And the most beautiful stories always have a dark chapter before the sunrise.

If today you need strength to keep going, pray this with me:

“Lord, I do not understand what I am going through. It hurts and I am tired. But I choose to trust that you are in control of all of this. Give me the strength to keep going one more day. And help me see your hand in the middle of everything I do not understand. Amen.”
