Stay for a moment… because today you may find the verse that says what your heart has not known how to express.

Mother’s Day is not only a date for flowers, hugs, or kind words. It is also an opportunity to recognize before God the value of a mother: her love, her sacrifice, her tears, her prayers, her sleepless nights, and that quiet strength that so often holds an entire family together.

The Bible deeply honors the role of a mother. It does not present her as a perfect figure, because no mother is perfect, but as a woman of great value, capable of loving, teaching, correcting, caring, and leaving an eternal mark on the hearts of her children.

Here are some Bible verses dedicated to mothers, perfect to read, share, dedicate, or meditate on during this special day.

“Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.”
Exodus 20:12

This verse reminds us that honoring Mom is not just a nice gesture, but a command from God. To honor her is to value her, respect her, listen to her, care for her, and give thanks for all she has done.

“Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.”
Proverbs 31:28

How beautiful it would be for every mother to hear these words while she is still alive. Not to wait until she is gone to recognize her love. A mother needs to know that her effort was not in vain.

“Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”
Proverbs 31:29

This verse expresses something many children feel about their mother: that although there are many admirable women, to them she holds a unique, special, and irreplaceable place.

“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
Proverbs 31:30

The true beauty of a mother is not only in her appearance, but in her heart, in her faith, in her reverence for God, and in the way she guides her family with love.

“Do not forsake your mother’s teaching.”
Proverbs 1:8

How many of Mom’s words do we understand only later in life. Advice that once sounded like simple scolding, over time becomes protection, wisdom, and blessing.

“As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you.”
Isaiah 66:13

God compares His comfort to the comfort of a mother. That shows us how deep, tender, and powerful a mother’s love can be.

“The wisest of women builds her house, but folly with her own hands tears it down.”
Proverbs 14:1

A wise mother builds with patience, with prayer, with example, and with love. Sometimes she receives no applause, but her influence raises generations.

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6

Many mothers have planted the Word of God in their children from an early age. Maybe today those children are far away, but no seed planted in faith is ever lost before the Lord.

“I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice.”
2 Timothy 1:5

This verse reminds us that faith is also passed down through example. A mother who prays, who believes, and who teaches her children to trust in God leaves a deep spiritual mark.

“Her children rise up and call her blessed.”
Proverbs 31:28

There are mothers who perhaps never received great recognition, but in the hearts of their children they hold a place no one else can occupy.

“Listen to your father who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.”
Proverbs 23:22

This verse touches the heart because it reminds us that Mom also grows old. The same woman who once carried us in her arms may one day need our love, patience, and care.

“A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish man despises his mother.”
Proverbs 15:20

One of the most beautiful ways to honor a mother is to live with wisdom. Because the good testimony of a child can also bring joy to a mother’s heart.

“Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.”
Proverbs 31:31

A mother deserves to be recognized for what she has planted. Her sacrifices, her prayers, and her love speak louder than many words.

On this Mother’s Day, let us not miss the opportunity to say thank you. Thank you for every meal served, every sleepless night, every prayer in silence, every piece of advice, every hug, and every hidden tear.

And if your mother is still alive, hug her, call her, write to her, bless her. Do not wait until it is too late to tell her what she means to you.

And if your mother has already gone to be with the Lord, remember with gratitude what she planted in your life. A mother’s love does not disappear; it remains in the memory, in the teachings, in the faith, and in everything she left inside your heart.

I invite you to close this moment with a simple prayer:

Beloved Lord, thank You for the life of every mother. Thank You for her love, her dedication, her patience, and her prayers. Bless the mothers who are still fighting for their children, strengthen those who are tired, comfort those who are suffering, and embrace those who are missing their mother today. Help us honor them, value them, and love them as You teach us. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
