There’s a Place in Heaven That Already Has Your Name

Jesus prayed for you the night before He died, even though you hadn’t been born yet.

It sounds impossible, but it’s in the Bible.

That night, at the last supper, Jesus was with His disciples. In a few hours He would be arrested. Their hearts were heavy: they had just heard that He was leaving. And to comfort them, He said something that still holds us up today: “In my Father’s house are many dwelling places… I go to prepare a place for you.”

It’s true He said those words first to them, to His closest friends. But that same night Jesus lifted His eyes to heaven and prayed for someone else. He told the Father: “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in me through their word.”

Do you know who “those who will believe” are? You. Me. Everyone who would one day hear of Him and open their heart.

That’s why the dwelling place Jesus went to prepare wasn’t only for a few. He promised: “I will come again and receive you to myself, that where I am, there you may be also.” He doesn’t just prepare the place… He comes back for you.

Maybe today you feel far away, tired, or you miss someone who has already gone to be with the Lord. Remember this: if your heart belongs to Christ, that prepared place bears your name too. Not because you’re perfect, but because He included you in His prayer that night.

Here is one last thought to carry with you: heaven is not a privilege for a select few; it’s the home Christ prepared for every heart that trusts in Him.

If this touched your heart, let’s pray together:

Lord Jesus, thank you that on that night you did not forget me. Thank you that your promise of an eternal home includes me too. When I feel alone or tired, remind me that I have a place prepared with you, and that you will return for your own. In your name, amen.
