Stay with me for a moment.
Before thinking about Jesus as a person, as a teacher, or as a Savior, there is something we must understand first: His name<\/strong>. In the Bible, names were not labels. They carried identity, purpose, and destiny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name Jesus<\/strong> did not begin in Bethlehem.
Its roots go much deeper into history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It comes from the Hebrew Yeshua<\/strong>, a shortened form of Yehoshua<\/strong>, a name used centuries before Christ was born. That name is built on two powerful ideas:
Yahweh<\/strong> (God) and yasha<\/strong> (to save).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is why its meaning is clear and profound:
\u201cGod saves\u201d<\/strong> or \u201cThe Lord is salvation.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not symbolism.
It is not poetry.
It is a declaration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As God\u2019s Word was translated into other languages, the name traveled through history. When the Old Testament<\/strong> was translated into Greek<\/strong>, Yeshua<\/strong> became I\u0113sous<\/strong>. Later, in Latin<\/strong>, it was written as Iesus<\/strong>, and from there it entered Spanish<\/strong> as Jes\u00fas<\/strong>. In English<\/strong>, that same path led to the name Jesus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spelling changed.
The pronunciation changed.
But the meaning never changed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every language preserved the same message: God saves<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And this is where it becomes truly powerful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When God chose to come into the world in human form, He did not choose a new name, a dramatic name, or a name based on human greatness. He chose a name that already said exactly what He came to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is why the angel told Joseph:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.\u201d<\/strong>
(Matthew 1:21)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First came the name.
Then came the mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the miracles, the name already spoke.
Before the cross, the name already explained everything.
Before anyone believed in Him, the name already carried hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is why the name Jesus is not just historical. It is present.
Not just religious. It is personal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you say \u201cJesus,\u201d you are saying:
God can save this life.
God can rescue this story.
God can step into this moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is a simple reflection for you:
If the name Jesus means \u201cGod saves,\u201d what part of your life needs to hear that today?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

before understanding everything, today I choose to trust.
If Your name declares that You save,

Teach me to rest in what You have already promised.
