What happens when a person tries to live for God… but refuses to let go of sin?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What happens when someone wants God’s blessing… but keeps holding on to the very thing that is destroying them?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus answered that question more than two thousand years ago with a statement that is just as true today as it was then:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\u201cEvery kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.\u201d (Matthew 12:25)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Jesus had just cast out a demon. Yet some religious leaders accused Him of doing it by the power of Satan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So Jesus answered them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\u201cIf Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?\u201d (Matthew 12:26)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
His logic was undeniable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The devil does not destroy his own kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He does not break his own chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He does not set his own captives free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But Jesus\u2019 words carried a much deeper truth than simply answering His accusers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A house divided cannot stand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And that applies to us as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many people want to follow Christ, but without letting go of the things Christ came to remove.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They want peace, but they continue feeding resentment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They want freedom, but they keep holding on to what enslaves them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They want to hear God’s voice, but spend more time listening to the voices of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Little by little, the heart becomes a divided house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One part wants to obey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The other wants its own way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One part trusts God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The other is ruled by fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And that constant struggle eventually exhausts the soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That is why Jesus did not come to occupy only part of your life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He came to be Lord of your entire life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because when Christ rules only one room in the house, there will always be conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But when He rules the whole house, peace begins to reign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, ask yourself:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Is there any area of my life that is still divided?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Is there something I have not fully surrendered to God?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because a house divided cannot stand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But a life completely surrendered to Christ can remain firm even in the strongest storms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\u201cTherefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.\u201d (John 8:36)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
I invite you to say this short prayer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lord Jesus, I surrender my whole heart to You. Remove everything in my life that pulls me away from You and help me walk in Your ways. Be the ruler of every area of my life and give me the peace that only You can provide. Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
