Stay until the end, because maybe today you\u2019ll realize why you\u2019ve been feeling restless\u2026 even though everything around you seems normal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Have you ever felt like God called you to something\u2026 and your first instinct was to run the other way?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You\u2019re not alone.
Jonah did it first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There was a man who received a clear mission. It wasn\u2019t hard to understand. There was no confusion. God spoke directly to him:
\u201cGo to Nineveh.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Jonah bought a ticket\u2026 going the opposite direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not because he didn\u2019t hear God.
But precisely because he did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That is the Jonah Syndrome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s not unbelief.
It\u2019s fear disguised as excuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s knowing exactly what you\u2019re supposed to do\u2026 and doing everything possible to avoid it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m not ready.\u201d
\u201cThat\u2019s not for me.\u201d
\u201cThere are people more capable.\u201d
\u201cMaybe later, when life is better.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sound familiar?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jonah didn\u2019t run because God was unfair.
He ran because obedience would cost him something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It would cost him comfort.
It would force him to go where he didn\u2019t want to go.
It would require him to love people he didn\u2019t think deserved love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And how many times do we do the same thing?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
God places an idea in your heart.
A calling.
An open door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And instead of walking toward it, we start building reasons not to move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But here\u2019s what impacts me most about this story:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The storm did not come to destroy Jonah.
It came to redirect him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes the crises in our lives are not punishments.
They are course corrections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They are the hand of God saying:
\u201cThat\u2019s not the way. Come back.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The belly of the great fish was not a grave.
It was a place of reflection.
A forced silence where Jonah could finally hear again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And in that dark place, in that uncomfortable season, Jonah prayed.
And God listened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Three days later, Jonah came out.
And this time\u2026 he went to Nineveh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maybe today you are inside the belly of something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A difficult process.
A season you don\u2019t understand.
A situation where everything feels closed off and hopeless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But what if this is not the end of your story?
What if it\u2019s the turning point?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What if God is waiting for you on the other side of the obedience you\u2019ve been postponing?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Bible says in Jonah 1:3 that he \u201cfled to Tarshish, away from the presence of the Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But in chapter 3, it says:
\u201cJonah arose and went to Nineveh according to the word of the Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Same man.
Same calling.
Different decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You can change direction too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You do not have to arrive perfect.
You do not need to have everything figured out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jonah arrived in Nineveh smelling like fish\u2026
and still, an entire city was transformed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
God does not need you to be ready.
He needs you to be willing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Would you say yes to God today?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not the easy yes.
The yes that costs something.
The yes that scares you.
The yes that changes everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let\u2019s pray together:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lord, today I recognize that I have been running. I have been afraid. I have made excuses. But here I am. I may not feel ready, but I want to be willing. Lead me where You are calling me. Help me say yes even when my voice shakes. I trust You. Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
