Because there are pains deeper than the body.

There are people who are healthy physically but completely broken inside.
And there are others who are sick physically yet find peace when they come to Christ.

So what did Isaiah mean?

He meant that Jesus would come to carry what humanity could no longer carry alone.

The anguish.
The guilt.
The hopelessness.
The emptiness.
The fear.
The sadness.
The weight of sin.
The exhaustion of the soul.

That is why Jesus did not come only to preach.
He came close to the brokenhearted.

Every time He healed someone, He was not just performing a physical miracle. He was revealing who He truly is: the Savior who steps into human suffering and carries it with us.

And He still does that today.

Maybe Christ does not always remove a physical illness immediately.
Maybe someone still struggles with a condition, a loss, or a difficult situation.

But when Jesus enters the heart, something begins to change inside.

Despair starts turning into hope.
Loneliness no longer feels the same.
Fear loses its power.
And life begins to have meaning again.

Because Christ did not come only to remove temporary problems.
He came to save souls and give rest to weary hearts.

And perhaps that is the most powerful part of this prophecy:
Isaiah announced centuries earlier that a Savior would come who could fully understand our pain… because He Himself would choose to carry it.

Jesus does not look at your suffering from far away.
He knows what it feels like to cry.
He knows what it means to suffer.
He knows what rejection feels like.
And still, He chose to come near to us.

That is why Matthew reminded us of this prophecy.
Because he wanted us to understand that Jesus was not just a man performing miracles.
He was the fulfillment of God’s promise.

The Savior who came to carry our pain…
and who still today continues lifting broken people.

If today you feel tired, empty, or without strength, remember this:
Maybe the world does not understand your pain…
but Christ does.

I invite you to pray this prayer with me:

Lord Jesus, thank You because You understand my pain and never leave me alone. Carry what is heavy in my heart and heal what is broken inside me. Help me find rest and hope in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

At Somos Cristianos, connecting hearts with Christ.

Jesus did not come only to heal bodies… He came to carry the pain, emptiness, fear, and brokenness that many people silently carry inside.
