Stay until the end\u2026 because many people have misunderstood this phrase from Jesus, and when you truly understand it, it changes the way you treat others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.\u201d
\u2014 Luke 6:38<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many people think Jesus was speaking only about punishment. As if He were saying, \u201cif you do bad things, bad things will happen to you.\u201d But the message goes much deeper than that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus was speaking about the heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The \u201cmeasure\u201d represents the way you treat, judge, forgive, help, and look at other people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some people measure with harshness.
They do not tolerate mistakes.
They criticize everything.
They mock others.
They condemn quickly.
They demand mercy for themselves\u2026 but never give it to anyone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Jesus said:
\u201cIn the same way, you will also be measured.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because life has a strange way of giving back what you planted in other people\u2019s hearts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The one who humiliates others will one day understand what it feels like to be humiliated.
The one who never forgives will eventually need forgiveness.
The one who speaks with contempt will sooner or later experience the pain of being despised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But the opposite is also true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The person who helps without expecting anything\u2026
the one who is patient\u2026
the one who gives people another chance\u2026
the one who knows how to listen\u2026
the one who treats others with love even when they do not deserve it\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
that person will also be measured with mercy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus was not only teaching a spiritual principle.
He was teaching how someone who truly knows God should live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because it is very easy to ask for understanding when we fail.
The hard part is giving that same understanding when someone else fails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And this is where His teaching hits deeply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many of us want grace for ourselves\u2026
but harsh justice for others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We want people to understand our wounds\u2026
while we ignore the wounds of others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We want God to be patient with us\u2026
while we destroy others with our words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That is why Jesus spoke so much about forgiveness, mercy, and love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not because people always deserve it\u2026
but because a hardened heart destroys the person carrying it before anyone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That does not mean allowing abuse or accepting injustice.
Jesus never taught people to live as victims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But He did teach that we should not become merciless judges of others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because no one truly knows the internal battles another person is fighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes behind a bad attitude there is depression.
Behind anger there is pain.
Behind betrayal there is a broken life that never healed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And although that does not justify evil\u2026
it should make us more human.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let me leave you with this reflection:
Before speaking harshly\u2026
before judging\u2026
before mocking\u2026
before destroying someone with your words\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ask yourself:
\u201cWould I want to be treated this way?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because one day, all of us will need mercy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Jesus made it clear that the measure we use with others\u2026
will also be used with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I invite you to join me in this prayer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lord, help me treat people with mercy, patience, and love. Remove pride, harshness, and the desire to judge from my heart. Remind me that I also fail and need grace every single day. Give me a humble and wise heart that reflects Your love in the way I treat others. In Jesus\u2019 name, amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
