I understand that many times you said, \u201cI\u2019m okay,\u201d even when you were tired inside. I understand that many times you smiled so I would not worry. I understand that many times you went without something so that I would not lack anything. I understand that your love did not always make noise, but it was always there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you for teaching me how to walk, not only with my feet, but also through life. Thank you for correcting me when it was necessary, even when I did not receive it well. Thank you for insisting, for advising me, for waiting for me, for not giving up on me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Word of God says: \u201cHonor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.\u201d<\/strong> Exodus 20:12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And today I understand that honoring you is not only about obeying you when I was a child. Honoring you also means recognizing your effort, valuing your sacrifice, speaking to you with love, hugging you while I can, and saying to you from my soul: thank you, mom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thank you for your love, which many times was stronger than my character. Thank you for forgiving me when I failed you. Thank you for continuing to love me even on my difficult days. Thank you for your words, for your silence, for your hugs, for the way you look at me as if you still see in me that child who needed protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Blessed be the Lord for giving me a mother like you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Because now I understand that a mother is not perfect, but her love often resembles the love of God: a love that waits, forgives, cares, cries, prays, and does not give up easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mom, maybe I have not told you enough, but your life has been a blessing to mine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If I ever made you feel that I did not value what you did, forgive me. If my words were ever harsh, forgive me. If I ever took your presence for granted, forgive me.
