Stay until the end\u2026 if you\u2019re giving your life to work but not enjoying it, this will make you think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is what Ecclesiastes 2:26 says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor the person who pleases Him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy; but to the sinner He gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was written by Solomon\u2026 and he didn\u2019t say it as a theory, he said it from experience. He had everything, and still saw something that keeps happening today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are men who work themselves to the bone their whole lives.
They work nonstop, sacrifice time with their family and even with themselves\u2026 thinking that one day they\u2019ll enjoy what they\u2019re building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But that \u201cone day\u201d often never comes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fatigue comes, sickness comes, distance grows in the family\u2026
or even death can come before you get the chance to enjoy it,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And the hardest part\u2026
is that many times everything you worked so hard for ends up in someone else\u2019s hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes yes, in the hands of your children\u2026 but other times not.
Sometimes in the hands of people who don\u2019t even value what it cost.
Sometimes in the hands of someone who comes later\u2026 and enjoys what you never had time to live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And that\u2019s where life feels unfair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But Solomon is not saying \u201cdon\u2019t work.\u201d
He\u2019s saying something deeper: if your life is only about accumulating\u2026 you\u2019re going to miss what truly matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because God doesn\u2019t just want to give you things\u2026
He wants to give you wisdom to live, and joy to enjoy what you already have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That changes everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One person may have less\u2026 but live in peace, enjoy a meal, a conversation, a normal day\u2026 without that constant anxiety of \u201cI need more.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And another may have a lot\u2026 but live empty, running, accumulating\u2026 without enjoying anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That, the Bible says, is \u201ca chasing after the wind.\u201d
It\u2019s that inner exhaustion you can\u2019t see, but you feel every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let me leave you with this honest question:
Are you building a life you can actually live\u2026 or just setting everything up for someone else to enjoy?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because in the end\u2026 it\u2019s not the one who gathers the most who wins.
It\u2019s the one who actually learned how to live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I invite you to join me in this prayer\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lord, open my eyes. Teach me not to waste my life on things I can\u2019t take with me. Give me wisdom to live with purpose, to enjoy what You give me today, and not leave what matters most for later. Let my life not be just work\u2026 but also peace, meaning, and fullness in You. In the name of Jesus, amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
