If you do something good just to be seen\u2026 you\u2019ve already lost everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus said it very clearly in the Gospel of Matthew 6:1: be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, your Father in heaven will not reward you<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n That\u2019s strong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Because many of us think that \u201cdoing good is enough.\u201d But Jesus goes deeper: it\u2019s not just about what you do\u2026 it\u2019s about why you do it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Think about it. You help someone, you give, you serve, you support\u2026 but you post it, you mention it, you hope someone notices. And yes, you get something: a \u201cyou\u2019re such a good person,\u201d recognition, reactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jesus says: that\u2019s it.<\/em> That was your reward. And there\u2019s nothing more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s not that God didn\u2019t see what you did\u2026 it\u2019s that you chose to trade an eternal reward for a temporary one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And here\u2019s what many people don\u2019t understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n God is not against you doing good. He is against you doing it to feed your image. Because then it\u2019s no longer pure love\u2026 it\u2019s pride in disguise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But when you do good in secret\u2026 when no one applauds you, when no one knows, when there are no cameras or posts\u2026 that\u2019s where God steps in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He sees what others don\u2019t see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And that\u2019s where there is reward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A peace you can\u2019t fake. A closeness to God you can\u2019t buy. A fulfillment that doesn\u2019t depend on anyone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Let me leave you with this reflection: if no one knew what you do for God\u2026 would you still do it the same way?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Join me in this prayer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our Father in heaven, today I come before You with a sincere heart. Forgive me if many times I have sought people\u2019s approval more than Yours. Teach me to do good in secret, to serve with humility, and to live to please only You.
