{"id":16199,"date":"2026-04-16T17:34:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T22:34:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/somoscristianos.org\/?p=16199"},"modified":"2026-04-16T17:39:50","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T22:39:50","slug":"verses-to-find-hope-in-difficult-times-when-faith-hurts-but-god-remains-faithful","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/somoscristianos.org\/en\/verses-to-find-hope-in-difficult-times-when-faith-hurts-but-god-remains-faithful\/","title":{"rendered":"Verses to Find Hope in Difficult Times: When Faith Hurts, but God Remains Faithful."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is a part of the Christian life that is rarely talked about\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>When believing is hard.<\/strong> Not when everything is going well, not when you feel peace, not when things fall into place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But when you pray\u2026 and see no answer. When you trust\u2026 and things get worse. When you do the right thing\u2026 and it still hurts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is where faith stops being a theory\u2026 and becomes real. Because anyone can say &#8220;God is good&#8221; when everything is in order. But saying it in the midst of pain\u2026 <strong>that is something else entirely.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bible is full of men and women who lived that kind of faith. Not a perfect faith\u2026 but a faith that struggles, that doubts, that cries\u2026 but does not let go of God. And in the midst of those stories, we find words that do more than just inform\u2026 <strong>they sustain.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>\u201cWhy, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.\u201d (Psalm 42:11)<\/strong> Here we see something profound: the psalmist does not deny his sadness\u2026 he confronts it. He speaks to himself. He reminds himself who God is when his emotions want to take over. Hope is often not born from feeling\u2026 it is born from a decision.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u201cEven though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.\u201d (Psalm 23:4)<\/strong> God does not promise to avoid the valley\u2026 He promises to walk with you inside it. And that completely changes the perspective. You are not lost\u2026 you are accompanied.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u201cBecause of the Lord\u2019s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.\u201d (Lamentations 3:22-23)<\/strong> This text was written in the middle of total ruin. Jerusalem destroyed, pain everywhere. And yet, the author finds something firm: God&#8217;s faithfulness does not depend on circumstances. Every day you wake up\u2026 is evidence that God is not finished with you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u201cAnd we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him\u2026\u201d (Romans 8:28)<\/strong> It doesn\u2019t say that everything is good\u2026 it says that everything works together. Even what you don\u2019t understand, even what broke you, even what made you cry. God wastes nothing. He takes what is broken\u2026 and redeems it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u201cWho comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble\u2026\u201d (2 Corinthians 1:4)<\/strong> There is a purpose in your process. What hurts you today can be the tool you use to lift someone else up tomorrow. God doesn\u2019t just heal you\u2026 He prepares you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u201cSurely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid\u2026\u201d (Isaiah 12:2)<\/strong> Trust does not eliminate the problem\u2026 it eliminates the dominion of fear. When you know who is with you, fear loses its strength.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u201cBut those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles\u2026\u201d (Isaiah 40:31)<\/strong> Waiting on God is not doing nothing\u2026 it is standing firm while He works. And in that process, something changes inside you: your strength is renewed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u201cMy grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness\u2026\u201d (2 Corinthians 12:9)<\/strong> This is uncomfortable\u2026 but real. There are things God does not remove immediately because, in the midst of them, He reveals something greater: His power in you. Your weakness is not the end\u2026 it is the point where God begins to show Himself.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u201cCast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.\u201d (1 Peter 5:7)<\/strong> Not a part\u2026 all of it. What worries you, what keeps you awake, what you don\u2019t know how to solve. God doesn\u2019t just listen\u2026 He cares.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u201cI have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.\u201d (John 16:33)<\/strong> Jesus never promised a life without problems. He promised something better: a peace that does not depend on them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This is where everything becomes clear\u2026<\/strong> Hope is not that everything changes quickly. Hope is knowing that, even if nothing changes on the outside\u2026 <strong>God is working on the inside.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I leave you with this reflection\u2026 Do not despair to leave the process without understanding it. Sometimes what we most want God to take away\u2026 is exactly what He is using to shape us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe today you don&#8217;t see the purpose. Maybe today you only feel the weight. But that doesn&#8217;t mean God isn&#8217;t working.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>He is never late.<\/strong> <strong>He never loses control.<\/strong> <strong>He never abandons what He started.<\/strong> And you\u2026 are part of what He started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>I invite you to join me in this prayer\u2026<\/strong> <em>Lord, today I come before You without masks. There are things that hurt me, that I don\u2019t understand, that weary me. Sometimes my faith weakens and my mind fills with doubts. But even so, here I am. Not because I have everything clear\u2026 but because I know You are my only hope. Sustain my heart when it feels weak. Renew my strength when I no longer feel like going on. Teach me to trust in the middle of the process, and to rest in Your will even if I don\u2019t understand it. Today I release my burdens into Your hands\u2026 and I choose to believe that You are still working.
