Not because they hate Him. Not because they don\u2019t care. But because life slowly filled up with noise, problems, exhaustion, sin, disappointments, doubts, and wounds\u2026 and little by little, something inside them faded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deep down, they want to get closer to God, but they don\u2019t know where to begin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They want peace, direction, rest\u2026 but something inside tells them they\u2019re not worthy anymore, that they\u2019ve failed too much, that maybe God doesn\u2019t want them the same way anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But that\u2019s not the truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The truth is that God does not move away from us. Many times, we are the ones who step back out of shame, guilt, or exhaustion. And even then\u2026 He keeps calling. He keeps waiting. He keeps reaching out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But here\u2019s something important many people overlook\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s not just about \u201cgetting closer to God\u201d in a general sense.<br>The true way to approach God has a name:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus Christ<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that changes everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cI am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.\u201d<\/strong><br>John 14:6<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s why, before anything else, there is a foundation that holds everything together:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Recognizing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s not just saying \u201cI believe in God.\u201d It\u2019s recognizing that you need Christ. That He died for your sins. That He rose again. And that you are willing to surrender your life to Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cIf you declare with your mouth, \u2018Jesus is Lord,\u2019 and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.\u201d<\/strong><br>Romans 10:9<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is where everything begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You don\u2019t start by trying to get close to see if God will accept you\u2026<br>You start because, through Christ, God has already opened the door to receive you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cDraw near to God, and He will draw near to you.\u201d<\/strong><br>James 4:8<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So\u2026 how do you draw closer to God step by step?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first step is recognizing your need for God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It sounds simple, but not everyone gets there. Many people want peace without God, direction without God, purpose without God. But the human soul was created for Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can fill your life with many things\u2026 but there is a space only God can fill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drawing closer to God begins when you stop pretending you can do it all on your own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you realize your strength is not enough.<br>Your intelligence is not enough.<br>Your money is not enough.<br>You need God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That moment doesn\u2019t make you weak\u2026 it makes you real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second step is talking to God just as you are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many people don\u2019t pray because they think they need the right words or a special way of speaking. But real prayer doesn\u2019t start with perfect words\u2026 it starts with an honest heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can say: \u201cLord, I don\u2019t even know how to start.\u201d<br>You can say: \u201cI\u2019m tired.\u201d<br>You can say: \u201cHelp me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God listens to sincere prayers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cThe Lord is close to the brokenhearted.\u201d<\/strong><br>Psalm 34:18<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your pain is not a barrier\u2026 many times it\u2019s the meeting point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The third step is true repentance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s not just feeling guilty. It\u2019s recognizing your sin, asking for forgiveness, and choosing to change direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You cannot draw close to God while holding on to what pulls you away from Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pride.<br>Bitterness.<br>Double living.<br>Habits you already know are hurting you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God is not asking for perfection\u2026 but He is asking for a willing heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cIf we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us.\u201d<\/strong><br>1 John 1:9<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God doesn\u2019t just forgive\u2026 He cleanses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fourth step is to begin reading God\u2019s Word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You cannot truly know God if you don\u2019t listen to Him. And His clearest voice is found in the Bible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Start simple. Not out of obligation, but with intention. Read to understand, to receive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ask yourself:<br>What is God showing me here?<br>What needs to change in me?<br>What promise is here for me?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cYour word is a lamp to my feet.\u201d<\/strong><br>Psalm 119:105<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You may not see the whole path\u2026 but you will see the next step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fifth step is seeking God consistently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not only when you feel bad. Not only when you feel like it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your relationship with God is not built only on emotions\u2026 it is built on decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There will be days when you feel a lot.<br>And days when you feel nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But God is still there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drawing close to Him daily\u2014even in small ways\u2014begins to change your heart over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sixth step is surrounding yourself with people who bring you closer to God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Faith doesn\u2019t grow well in isolation. You need healthy community, truth, and people who build you up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People who don\u2019t just make you laugh\u2026 but help you grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Find a church where the truth is taught.<br>Find friendships that strengthen your spiritual life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The seventh step is obeying what God has already shown you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many people ask for direction\u2026 but ignore what they already know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you know you need to forgive\u2026 do it.<br>If you know you need to change something\u2026 do it.<br>If you know you need to seek God more\u2026 start today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cWhoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me.\u201d<\/strong><br>John 14:21<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Closeness with God grows through obedience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And something important\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drawing closer to God doesn\u2019t mean everything will be easy.<br>It means you won\u2019t be alone anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There will still be struggles.<br>Difficult days.<br>Moments of weakness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But now there is a presence with you.<br>There is direction.<br>There is peace.<br>There is purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And if you fail at some point\u2026 come back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you grow cold\u2026 come back.<br>If you stumble\u2026 come back.<br>If you get distracted\u2026 come back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God is not looking for perfection\u2026 He is looking for a sincere heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let me leave you with something clear: drawing closer to God is not losing\u2026 it\u2019s finding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finding peace.<br>Finding direction.<br>Finding forgiveness.<br>Finding purpose.<br>But above all\u2026 finding Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I invite you to join me in this prayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lord, today I recognize that I need You. I recognize that I cannot do this on my own, and that I need Jesus Christ in my life. I believe that He died for my sins and rose again, and today I receive Him as my Lord and Savior. Forgive me, cleanse me, and change me from within. Teach me to draw closer to You each day, to seek You sincerely, to obey You, and to walk with You. Remove everything in me that pulls me away from Your presence and fill me with Your peace.
