Stay with this for a moment\u2026 because this question isn\u2019t comfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s not something you can just think about quickly and move on. It\u2019s the kind that forces you to look inside yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because we all think we would have been different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That we wouldn\u2019t have run away.
That we wouldn\u2019t have denied Jesus.
That we would have stood firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But\u2026 really?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The night Jesus was arrested, everything changed in a matter of minutes. The disciples who had walked with Him, who had seen miracles, who had heard His voice\u2026 ran away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Peter, the bravest one, the one who said he would never abandon Him\u2026 ended up denying Him three times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThen Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him\u2026 and he went outside and wept bitterly.\u201d (Luke 22:61\u201362)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He wasn\u2019t just anyone.
He was someone who loved Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And still\u2026 he failed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s what makes this story hit so hard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because it reflects us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We also say we love God\u2026 but sometimes we stay silent when we should speak.
We hide when we should stand firm.
We deny with our actions what we claim with our words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s not always a spoken \u201cI don\u2019t know Him\u201d\u2026
Sometimes it\u2019s in our decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes it\u2019s when we choose what\u2019s easy instead of what\u2019s right.
When we prefer to fit in with the world instead of standing for the truth.
When we know what God expects\u2026 but we look the other way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And then the question comes back, stronger:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Where would you be?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among those who ran?
Among those who watched from a distance?
Or among the few who stayed\u2026 even when it hurt?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The cross doesn\u2019t just show Jesus\u2019 sacrifice.
It also reveals the human heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fear.
Weakness.
Doubt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But this is where everything changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because Jesus knew all of that\u2026 and still went to the cross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He didn\u2019t die for perfect people.
He died for Peter.
He died for those who ran.
He died for those who doubted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He died for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And that changes the whole story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because it\u2019s not about whether you would have failed\u2026
It\u2019s about the fact that, even knowing you would, He chose to love you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the resurrection, Jesus didn\u2019t go looking for Peter to confront him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He went to restore him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He looked at him\u2026 not with condemnation, but with love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That same love reaches you today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maybe you weren\u2019t physically there back then\u2026
but spiritually, the story is still alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Every day you decide where you stand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whether you hide\u2026 or draw near.
Whether you deny Him\u2026 or acknowledge Him.
Whether you run\u2026 or remain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Take this with you and reflect on it in your heart\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s not about imagining what you would have done two thousand years ago\u2026
it\u2019s about deciding what you are doing with Jesus today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because the cross is not just history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s a mirror.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And also\u2026 an opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I invite you to join me in this prayer\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lord, if I\u2019m honest, many times I look more like Peter than I would like to admit. I have failed, I have doubted, I have stayed silent when I should have spoken. But today I understand that You still love me. Thank You for not rejecting me, for seeking me even after my mistakes. Give me a firm, brave, and sincere heart. Help me not to hide, but to draw close to You every day. And when I fail again, remind me that Your grace is greater than my weakness. Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
