There are phrases in the Bible that, when you read them slowly, carry weight\u2026 not because they\u2019re hard to understand, but because they feel so real. This is one of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMy people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.\u201d When God said this through the prophet Hosea, He wasn\u2019t talking about people being uneducated or lacking intelligence. This was something deeper\u2026 it was a matter of the heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The context of that time is clear: the people of Israel knew God. They had received His law, they had seen His hand move\u2026 but little by little, they stopped taking Him seriously. They began to live as if God didn\u2019t matter. They mixed their faith with other beliefs, followed what felt good, what was convenient, what everyone else was doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And that\u2019s the key: it wasn\u2019t that they didn\u2019t have access to knowledge\u2026 they rejected it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Before this verse, God describes a land full of lies, violence, and injustice. Afterward, He makes it clear that even the spiritual leaders failed, because instead of guiding the people back to Him, they also turned away. Everything was disconnected from the truth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So when God says, \u201cMy people are destroyed for lack of knowledge,\u201d what He\u2019s really saying is something powerful: And if we\u2019re honest\u2026 this isn\u2019t far from what we see today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Today we have more access to the Bible than ever before. It\u2019s on our phones, in videos, on social media, in audio\u2026 but that doesn\u2019t mean we truly know God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Because knowing is not just reading a verse. To know God is to understand His heart\u2026 and choose to live according to Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And this is where it becomes personal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How many times do we know what\u2019s right\u2026 but don\u2019t do it? That\u2019s where the real \u201clack of knowledge\u201d begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s not a lack of information\u2026 it\u2019s a lack of transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So what should we do today?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Maybe it\u2019s not about doing more\u2026 but about going back to the basics, truly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Return to reading the Word with intention, not just routine. Because in the end, the knowledge that transforms isn\u2019t the one that stays in your mind\u2026 it\u2019s the one that reaches your heart and shows up in your daily life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Take a moment to reflect on this\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n God doesn\u2019t just want us to know about Him\u2026 He wants us to truly know Him. It\u2019s not just listening to sermons.
It\u2019s not just saying, \u201cI believe in God.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
How many times do we hear the Word\u2026 but don\u2019t apply it?
How many times do we choose what\u2019s easy\u2026 instead of what\u2019s right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seek to understand, not just to finish a chapter.
Ask yourself: \u201cWhat is God telling me here?\u201d
And most importantly\u2026 start living it, even when it\u2019s hard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And that kind of knowledge isn\u2019t built in one day\u2026 it\u2019s built every single day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Teach me to truly know You, not just hear about You.
Give me a heart willing to obey, even when it\u2019s not easy.
Let Your Word not pass through my life without leaving a mark.
