There are phrases that seem simple\u2026 but when you really think about them, they confront you. This is one of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
John the Baptist said:
\u201cA man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.\u201d (John 3:27)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And he said it in a very specific moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His own disciples were concerned. They saw that Jesus was beginning to have more followers than John. In other words, they felt that John was \u201closing influence,\u201d \u201closing attention\u201d\u2026 that someone else was growing in what used to be his.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Humanly speaking, that\u2019s uncomfortable. It would bother anyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But John\u2019s response is powerful. There is no jealousy, no competition, no insecurity. Only a deep clarity:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nothing I have is truly mine\u2026 everything comes from God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
John understood something that is hard for us to accept:
your position, your success, your talents, your opportunities\u2026 are not just the result of your effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yes, you work. Yes, you try. Yes, you fight.
But if God doesn\u2019t open the door\u2026 nothing happens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And the opposite is also true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes we see others moving ahead faster, having more, achieving more\u2026 and inside us, comparison begins to grow. We ask ourselves:
\u201cWhy them and not me?\u201d
\u201cWhat did I do wrong?\u201d
\u201cWhy isn\u2019t it my turn?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And that\u2019s where this truth grounds us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
God is the one who gives.
God is the one who takes.
God is the one who assigns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, a very real question comes up:
what about those who prosper without God\u2026 does that also come from Him?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The answer is yes\u2026 but not in the same way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
God is still the Creator and authority over everything, and He allows even those who don\u2019t seek Him to have life, talent, opportunities, and even success. Sometimes this is part of His general grace, and other times it\u2019s simply because those people are applying principles that work, like discipline and effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But there is something important we must not confuse\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not everything that looks like prosperity\u2026 is a complete blessing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because you can have money without peace, success without purpose, achievements without direction. And sooner or later, that becomes heavy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus said it very clearly:
\u201cFor what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?\u201d (Mark 8:36)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So yes, someone can prosper without God\u2026 but it\u2019s not the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because when what you have comes from God and you walk with Him, there is something deeper: there is peace, there is purpose, and there is a security that doesn\u2019t depend on what you have, but on who you are in Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And here it\u2019s important to clarify something so we don\u2019t get confused: when John said that we cannot receive anything unless it comes from heaven, he was not saying that everything that happens\u2014even the bad\u2014was created by God. He was talking about what each person receives in terms of purpose, calling, and what is assigned to them in life. God gives what is good, allows certain things we don\u2019t understand, but He is not the author of evil. Even so, nothing escapes His control, and He has the power to turn even difficult things into something meaningful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
John was not frustrated because Jesus was growing\u2026 because he understood that the purpose of his life was not to compete, but to fulfill what God had given him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And that changes everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because when you understand this, you stop living in comparison\u2026 and you start living in purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You stop fighting for what isn\u2019t yours\u2026 and you start taking care of what has been entrusted to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You stop envying\u2026 and you start being grateful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And something even deeper\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It also helps you in difficult moments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because if what is good comes from God, then even what you don\u2019t understand\u2026 is still under His control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And even though not everything that happens comes directly from Him, nothing escapes His hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let me leave you with this reflection to meditate in your heart:
You are not behind. You are not forgotten. You are not outside the plan.
God knows exactly what to give you, when to give it to you\u2026 and why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And what is meant for you\u2026 no one can take away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I invite you to join me in this prayer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lord, help me trust in Your will.
Remove from my heart comparison, envy, and frustration.
Teach me to value what You have given me, and to wait in faith for what has not yet arrived.
May I never forget that everything I have\u2026 comes from You.
And that my life is not about competing, but about fulfilling Your purpose.
